7 May 2012

Position 14:00 UTC -2  10 47.561S 018 23.244W

Another glorious night. Sailing at an average of 4.9knots great moon and not cold. We are very definitely in the tropics – nights cool days hot. The long run on the motor plus sun on the panels has kept the batteries up so haven’t motored as yet.

Supper Stew and smash followed by butterscotch pub, fruit and custard

8 May 2012

Position 14:00 UTC -2  09 16. 52S 019 49.634W

Wind backed so put in a gybe and headed more west. Long discussion on our speed. We are definitely slower than I anticipated and so far we have had no help from any current. Otherwise a good day of sailing even if at only 4+ knots.

Supper Left overs plus a fried egg followed by butterscotch pud and fruit.

9 May 2012

Position 14:30 UTC -2  08 30.260S 021 46.821W

One of the few ships passed in the night – a fishing vessel with lights like a chokka boat. Wind has picked up and we are maintaining 5+knots – long may it last. Half way to Fortaleza at last.

Supper Tuna Pasta followed by chocolate pud and fruit.

I am not receiving emails for some reason or other. So please if you need to contact me send a SMS from the Iridium website.

Sailing has been great at last some trade wind sailing. All well

Cheers

Chris
